On Tuesday I asked the question, “If you’re some like me, who sincerely cherishes God’s word and the Constitution, what do we do?” We’re stuck between the two clapping seals and neither one represents our values.
Thomas Sowell very wisely laid out our choices in this election, “Voting for an out of control egomaniac like Donald Trump would be like playing Russian roulette with the future of this country. Voting for someone with a track record like Hillary Clinton’s is like putting a shotgun to your head and pulling the trigger. And not voting at all is just giving up.”
The first, and most important part of answering this question, pray. God may lead you to a different conclusion, but this is where he has lead me…
I live in reality… And the reality is, one of these candidates will be our President. I’m not going to throw in the towel and sit this one out. Not voting, is not an answer. I will not disrespect the men and women who gave so much for our nation, so that I may have the right to cast a vote.
Now that I’ve ticked off Trump and Hillary supporters, and the never Trump folks, here’s how I look at it…
What is the primary responsibility of the President of the United States? It’s Commander in Chief of our armed forces. So who’s more qualified?
After the Benghazi attack, Hillary Clinton joined the administration’s lie. They said the attack was instigated by a video. She tried to console the families of our fallen heroes and told them that they’d go after the film maker. Even though leaked emails, and a Congressional investigation, now reveal that this was a planned attack by terrorists. It was not caused by a video.
The leaked emails also revealed that Hillary knew this to be the case before talking with the families. She lied to these families in their time of sorrow. However, here’s the big insight into Hillary’s character… The families later called her out on the lie, and Hillary had the nerve to call the families of our fallen heroes, liars.
Donald Trump is not your most trust worthy guy either. His character is nearly as bad as Hillary; however, he is a proven fund raiser for our troops and has spoken of them with respect. Despite his own questionable morals, I’ve yet to see him do something as cold as lying to the families of our fallen heroes.
Hillary holds our military in contempt. While Trump, at least on the surface, holds our service members in high regard.
So who’s more qualified to be Commander in Chief?
I guess… Even if there is more than one bullet in the chamber, we at least have a chance with Russian roulette.
